On Saturday January 30th (snow date 2/06/10) the Concord Raiders Softball program will be collecting small items like cell phones, computers, TV’s and VCRs and large items like refrigerators and washing machines in the Raider Electronics Recycling Challenge. Location is 300 Baker Ave. (the old GenRad Building) parking lot. The goal of the Challenge is to help local residents recycle their unused electronics equipment. The Raiders will ask for a small, tax deductible contribution for this service to assist their program’s fund-raising needs.

Dr. H. Bradley Shaffer, this year's Hrdy Fellow at Harvard's Department of
Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, will be speaking about "Making
Population Biology Relevant to Conservation".  Turning basic research in
ecology, evolution and genetics into concrete conservation management is one
of the more elusive goals of conservation biology.  Dr. Shaffer will be
speaking about this in relation to his studies of the California Tiger
Salamander.

Learn how to enjoy eating locally year round at Mass Audobon's Drumlin Farm for the Winter Harvest Dinner, Friday February 5th at p:00 pm. The menu will include homemade cheese from local milk, Tuscan Kale Soup, vegetarian frittata, Drumlin Farm meat and roasted winter vegetables. Fresh baked pubpkin pie with fresh homemade whippped cream will complete the winter feast.
