Overview

The ConcordConserves carbon calculator calculates your carbon footprint by using your household consumption of energy and transportation trends; the two most influential contributors to your carbon footprint. By taking the first step, and calculating your ‘base’ footprint, you can watch as your impact on the environment decreases with the actions that you take to live a more sustainable life.

How it works

After registering within the website to create your Carbon Calculator account, answer the questions posed by the calculator by entering your household outputs, found easily on the electric and gas bills for the past year. The calculator will determine how many kilograms of carbon you are putting into the atmosphere each year after you click the Calculate button. How did you do? You may want to try and reduce your carbon footprint by clicking on the “Reduce” tab to take action and read suggestions to lower your footprint. Lastly, join the mission to lower Concord’s carbon footprint by creating a group on the "Compete" tab for your part of town. For example, West Concord, Concord Ctr., Emerson Field Neighbors, Rideout Playground Neighbors, See how many kilograms of carbon your group has eliminated! Compare your group to other groups to see if your group reduces the most, then you could win a prize! Did your group win the challenge?
