Cat Litter?

Name:
Sandy

What is the best way to dispose of a dirty cat box? I clean my cat box every day and use the plastic bags from the grocery store to throw it away. I bring my canvas bags to the store so I don't have to use the plastic ones. But at the same time I need them for the cat box.

I now I am reusing but there has to be a better eco-friendly way.

Any suggestions?

Several methods for litter

Several methods for litter disposal -
1. Use a self-flushing, self-washing cat box. Or, used litter can be disposed of by burying in the garden where it becomes an effective fertilizer. Cat manure can be strong and burial sites should be changed regularly. If you must dispose of pet manure in the
garbage, use biodegradable plastic bags to package the waste.
2. Step 1: For starters, you will need a wide-mouth container with a sealable lid to store the used kitty litter until garbage day. Having a container with a wide mouth comes in handy for dumping in the used litter faster, which helps when you want to limit your
exposure to the stinky smell. Also, it's nice to have a large container so waste doesn't get filled to the top; this will make cleaning the container easier.

Step 2: To begin scooping out the used kitty litter, just take your usual scooper and dump the waste into the open container.

Step 3: When all the kitty litter waste has been scooped out, tighten the lid back on the container.

Step 4: When you notice you kitchen trash bin getting full, it's time to dump out the collected kitty litter waste into the garbage bag and take out the trash as usual.

Step 5: Clean the kitty litter waste container with your usual disinfectant. I pour a mixture of vinegar and dishwashing soap in, fill the container halfway with hot water, give a few gentle swooshes, and flush the dirty water down the toilet. (And the reason I
fill it halfway is because that?s how high the kitty litter waste gets in my container.)

Step 6: Allow the container to air dry and then simply repeat this environmentally friendly process, starting with step 2.

Hope these are helpful.
